Netdiver 10y Bash
To celebrate 10 years publishing online we wanted a party.
A BIG WEB party!!!
Since we couldn't pack a worlwide audience in one place, we decided to do an online bash and invited designers, artists and illustrators to submit 1" button (badge) and 4x6 postcards to be part of an upcoming Netdiver vintage collection.
384 entries were received from all corners of the world and they make quite a statement on the diversity and the unique creativity of all who participated.
After much deliberations, the 10year Design Bash selections are ready for viewing.
Special contribution issues
Part of our anniversary bash, we invited special content scouts to contribute 10 project reviews on the topic of their choice and do a 3 question based mini-interview. Follows issues published so far.
We are the mavericks. The innovators. The originators. We risk it all to create tools that extend our creative expression. Unable to accept the way things are — our relentless determination and passion force us down unexpected paths — emerging with tools and ideas like Laurie Anderson's tape-bow violin, Frank Gehry's Digital Project apps, Brian Eno's Generative Music and all of seriously fun toys below.
In the summer months toy designers are busy showcasing their designs for the upcoming season. The toy community is inundated by previews and prototypes revealing this year's slate of new releases. As we experience this influx in toy prototypes it becomes hard to sift through all the releases to find high-quality fresh designs. As we celebrate Netdiver's 10 year anniversary, consider these 10 designers. With such an array of different styles and diverse talent, surely there is something for everyone.
I find inspiration in designs that show me something new, something unusual and are able to draw attention at the same time. I like artists who do not follow trends but their own ideas and are brave enough to experience. It can either be the most minimal design or the most detailed one, if you can see the unseen, then it's inspiring indeed.
Netdiver has always made a special effort to recognize the work of female creators. There are so many talented women blazing trails in design, sometimes it's easy to forget that women are still severely underrepresented in many areas of the industry. Netdiver's Powagirrrls section helps target this inequity through its focus on "women who rock the design scene.. with more than pink design!" I'm happy to have this opportunity to share with you the work of some of my favorite female creators.

This curated selection of drinking glasses was inspired from a drink of water the other day. We often overlook items that we use daily and often dismiss thoughts about who, where and how these various vessels have come to existence. Specimens included here range from the iconic NYC Deli cup to hand crafted crystal service sets. Many of the designs have reinvented the common drinking glass into explosive works of high concept art.
Sustainability issues of products and materials have been widely recognised and discussed for a number of years now. Everywhere we look we see how a linear materials economy threatens not only the natural environment but also consequently imperils the survival of a linear production industry, since it will have nothing to produce if the raw resources are indeed consumed. But how do we address issues of sustainability within our own economy, the design industry?
