Kenya Hara is a fortysomething
graphic designer based in Tokyo and the art director of MUJI,

in that field—posters, packaging, signage, corporate identities—what
he’s really good at, and becoming best known for, is looking at
the big picture of where design fits into real, modern, daily life.
Hara’s a cerebral designer, but also eloquent and he produces exquisite
work..”

Blew
me socks away! Have a look at Ben's
life, micro-site of pro athletes Ben Grove (Skateboard).
Pleasantly surprising is the fact that on each refresh, a different section
of the website loads, and each and everyone of them, has got somekind
of interactions that makes it a really good experience.
Even moreso, the fact that it's not a yadiya list of his achievements,
but a personal and fun peek where you get bits and pieces of the athlete
life and interests.

Henning von Vogelsang aka as core
claims to be an honest interactive brand consultant and I luv his new

Completely
flipping me up! Oh my, look at Ekko
Fest is a website an upcoming festival for electronic music in Bergen,
Norway.
The interface simply blew me away. Ain't flash powerful or what? The
panning fx is working perfectly overall due to solid black lines for text
. The newspaper layout feel gives way to legible text only when you select
an item. Check the semi-transparent widget on the left that includes program
and sound.
Original, crisp and holding in a single page! Hats off to Are Bu Vindenes!

How does Netdiver work? The What's new includes daily news and buzz about
freelancers, individual professionals or studios as well as industry events.
An alternate browsing since we cover most design disciplines, these are

What Netdiver should
have ..

This is when you can join the party! Thanks so much for your support and

What
I like about Richard Wilkinson
illustrations is this old world feel like the kind of illustrations you
can find in the very early issues of Vogue and the New Yorker. The sparingness
of lines and subdued palette concurs to this air of minimalist elegance.

The
Ekko Festival identity is designed by Grandpeople
who are masters in design and direction. They have an outstanding portfolio
that cuts right through all edges.

Peter
Granser photography captures the mundane and simple life of people
in high contrasting color giving these a surreal dimension.
Luv the dual picture presentation!

“In 1999 I finished a series of 53 portraits called “Skins
Mods Teds”. I was very interested how far there are youth-cultures
(or subcultures) existing in my nearby environment which lead back to
important groups from the past.
For me it is interesting to see the influence of youth traditions from
Europe and North America to the Japanese youth-culture, to find out the
differences or coherences, what was changed regarding the style or meaning.”

Blanka
presents 50 years
of Helvetica where you can see the font useage in selected works through
the years. Interestingly, although this font is probably the most used
and recognizabled and intended for corporate communications, as you will
see in this online gallery, not all work is of equal quality. So a great
font is not enough to make a great.. design.
