Sound
The Alarm (STA) says: “Bringing the song’s meaning to life
with the visual had to be done in just the right way. Says Colin, “When
we wrote ‘Suffocating,’ there
was uncertainty as to where we would be in the upcoming months.
The pressure of graduation and going to college right away, or pursuing
music, was overwhelming, and we were being pulled in all sorts of directions
about what to do next.”

Did
you know that? São
Paulo: The City That Said No To Advertising by Patrick Burgoyne
“The Clean City law passed last year by the populist mayor, Gilberto
Kassab, stripped the Brazilian city of all advertising. So how's it looking
now?
A city stripped of advertising. No Posters. No flyers. No ads on buses.
No ads on trains. No Adshels, no 48-sheets, no nothing.
It sounds like an Adbusters editorial:
an activist's dream.”
Don't miss reading page
2 of article.
“In a lot of places, Piqueira says, this has led to the removal
of posters but not the structures on which they were displayed. "It's
a kind of 'billboard cemetery'.”

If
you could design anything to improve the way we live – what
would it be? Our world is in a state of constant flux. Whether it's
transformations in climate, technology or attitudes our lives are transforming
more rapidly than ever before.
In response to this, 12 top flight illustrators and designers have
been asked to take a step back from their hectic day to day lives to
consider their situation and how it could be improved.
Each publication is launched
alongside an exhibition, showing every single contribution received,
meaning nobody's work goes unseen.
