“This
Sunday, 11 May, is Mothers'
Day in China. Just like here, it's a day for families to celebrate
the strength and love that mothers bring into our lives. And this year,
it's a chance for us to reach out to some particular mothers in Beijing
who have experienced the worst thing a mother could endure - the death
of their own children, at the hands of their own government.”
As a long time human rights activist - I am proud to join in expanding
the awareness that China has NOT yet address the 'human rights' issue

IMPORTANT
Update! ! !
Late this Autumn and part of our 10th anniversary bash publishing online,
Netdiver will release a spanking new website that will include a redesigned
interface, cool new sections, improved search and a couple of surprises
projects that will be more community and self-expression based.
As you can see the little batteries which were the navigation for the
different disciplines/sections thumbnail galleries are gone! Now with
text links, we're fully accessible for hand-held devices and more usable.
Also to avoid further frustration to us all, we are putting
our feed on hiatus so we can concentrate on the task of a huge content
migration. So you understand where we are coming from, RSS back then
did not exist, and is not supported properly by our current architecture:
it is impossible to reflect how many entries (3 to 5) are posted leading
to look as if we are not updating, as we do, daily.
Last

“The world is in a spin and with what the media withhold, one

What
is broadband affording us? Well not only allowing rich media apps and
immersive experiences to be readily available but also the possibility
to use more of the interface to display visuals in a more compelling
way. Another in a series of portfolios websites that I'm discovering

These huge backgrounds allows for a simple banner head location for
text and navigation and the use of semi-transparencies.

Furniture and Interior Design for the 21st Century
To restore and renew my inspiration — books have always been the
main source. Today, to be a well-rounded designer you need to be opened
to multi-disciplines contributions to the current state of the industry.
As the barrier between art and design narrows, guess we could say that
we are indeed in an era where esthetics are an important aspect of modern
life from the mundane to the most extravagant.
Furnish is an eloquent, polished and concise overview of the now scene
in product and interior design. Each sections is documented with a well
researched list of projects. The introductory text which sets the context
methodically, is non-verbose, making it an easy and enlightening read.
But the best part is the staggering quality of examples that spans the
pages.
I was utterly surprised and tickled by the scope of what is going on
out there — that I did not know of — and grateful to both
fill the void and tap into what the object is or can become.
Grateful too, that there is a sizable portion dedicated to experimental,
rapid prototyping and questioning why do we need stuff anyway.
Sennep came

“There is a reason why public speaking is a common phobia; just
because someone is knowledgeable about a subject does not mean they know
how to communicate their ideas for others to absorb.
Never dive into creating your presentation without knowing
the constraints within which you are working, as they can really alter
how you present. When I started to prepare for my presentation, I had
to ruthlessly narrow down what my goals for speaking were before I tackled
the nitty gritty.”

Chromatics
have been a taunting challenge since I started playing colors as a teen.
My first painting was an horrible brownish mess and I vouch to decipher
the rules behind.
In The Mod: Color Analytics — A
Dr. Woohoo Production — is an ingenious system whereas different
paintings are analyzed on the fly producing a color palette that you
can download and use in either Photoshop or Illustrator, Flash, Processing
and After Effects. You can find similar palettes too and in the menu
section, you can read about the process behind the generative engine.

Did
you know that Safari 3.1 is available for Windows? We
can't say same from M$ product fallouts for the Mac platform — like
dumping IE5.2.. It claims to be the fastest browser on any platform — Safari
is the first browser to pass the Acid2 benchmark from the Web
Standards Project — and if you like the Mac chrome design — we
window serfs can also own a little piece of it. And of course, available
for the glamorous iPhone.
And that Apple claims their “engineers designed Safari to be secure
from day one.” See the cool interface and also own it as an extra
browser to test your in-progress websites. Download the .pdf to see the
complete functionalities.
Major drawbacks: the anti-aliasing of fonts,
with no options to just say no thanks, the bookmarks open over the browser
window instead as a drop down, and the fact that there is no lower chrome
which I use all the time to check the URL address of a website before
going there.
“The introduction of reformatting systems can lead to the disruption
of mobile web sites for all of the users in their respective networks.
This situation is a concern for mobile web neutrality and has the potential
to jeopardize the mobile web as a platform in the years to come.”
