The girl effect
It’s definitely the right time of the season for good wishes, etc. A number of years back, after being asked the question over and over in interviews: “Why are women under represented in the industry?”
The short answer boils down to “until men can have babies or caring for them does become a societal responsibility – the situation won’t change.”
I wanted to do something positive about this and decided to start the Powagirrrls 
directory to honor women who rock the design scene with more than pink design. Regardless of their on-going discipline, they get double appearance (listing) on Netdiver.
Long introduction to a project, The Girl Effect, that the good folks at Grow Interactive have produced which struck a deep chord this morning.
Please take time to view it, ponder and do something about this if you can. Never underestimate the power of one.
