Index
A by Charles Wilkin

Review:
Talking about books - just indulged from cover to cover into the IndexA
from one of my fav artist, Charles Wilkin.
He is an exquisite master of collages that are quirky, beautiful,
challenging, original... interesting to see that every artist in a
period of his life has favorites design objects or palette. You can
see such different time_styles in his book. Definitely worth a place
in your library!
Any of you in NYC? An exhibit of his art will take place
from April 24th through May 18th at The Riviera Gallery, 103 Metropolitan
Ave. (between Wythe and Berry) Williamsburg, Brooklyn, L train to Bedford
Ave, G train to Metropolitan Gallery hours: Thursday-Sunday 1pm-6pm
Train
of Thoughts (Designing the Effective Web Experience) by John
Lenker

Review:
Challenge to
conventional usability and Information Architecture by Roy Johnson.
This book explores the other side of the Web usability debate. It
argues that web sites should be an 'experience' - organised on principles
of human psychology, creativity, and understanding to web design.
John Lenker presents his ideas as short nuggets of thought - on average
no more than three or four paragraphs each. Its like Web pages. You
get the idea? What he offers is basically a critique of Jakob Nielsen's
arguments on Web usability testing. Lenker is saying that people spend
time on the Web for more than just efficient shopping. They want to
play, have novel visual experiences, and just goof around, hoping that
something interesting will turn up.
