Spam king lives large off others' e-mail troubles. West Bloomfield computer empire helped by foreign Internet servers by Mike Wendland.

“The computers in Ralsky's basement control 190 e-mail servers -- 110 located in Southfield, 50 in Dallas and 30 more in Canada, China, Russia and India. Each computer, he said, is capable of sending out 650,000 messages every hour -- more than a billion a day -- routed through overseas Internet companies Ralsky said are eager to sell him bandwidth.

There are probably about 150 major spammers who are responsible for 90 percent of all the spam everyone gets, said Linford. Ralsky has been the biggest of them, and is certainly still in the top five.

Meet Arnaud Mercier, art direction and embark on a voyage into a breath taking sweeping view of a one of a kind portfolio.

At Elixir Studio you discover his unique style, his jaw dropping pictures and flash storyboards that which makes Arnaud an accomplished master communication designer.

______

From the *subway* experiment to interface designs for Blastradius studio and reknown clients, each work is different and extensive. Such profound thought is given to visual placement for navigation and text as well branding integration... one very well should spend lots of time, learning from him.

______

Don't miss his 'Journey on flash movie' and watch how the frames unfold. I must have watched it about x4 times!

But there is more! Be it picture montages, print design, logotypes or design stills, there is not one single entry that is boring.

Another of his quality is understanding chromatics. The play of color, the contrast, these little bits of numbers and arrows, though a style that is much in used... sorry but not with this kind of subtlety!

I bet even his discarded work would be worth seeing.

Now, can somebody book this guy to publish his own work? Wish I could 'cause I would.

Arnaud Mercier is now operating under AREA17.

“The difference between information architecture and usability is vital to understand, because, as discussed last month, information architecture is more than just understanding what users want and need. A usability-only approach to IA is only one piece of the puzzle.”

::: die-gestalten is a publishing house and editor of design books who has redesigned their site recently using flash. The vast improvement is the capacity to view their catalogue with inside page views on the fly!

Their collection is vast and vastly different (as well as uncensored some content may be offending to some viewers). I have reviewed a couple of books recently and overall - what they seem to favor is the latest design styles: off main-stream, grunge, experimental, cutting-edge digital explorations applied to other medias. Editorial direction is not always clear - and quantity of displayed projects sometimes superceed quality - but they sure make it a point to publish a lot.

If you need to build a quick start ref library to meet your clients' expectations or for latest-latest-latest explorations, they are a good choice. Check their catalogue for familiar designers' name.
