ZAHA HADID 1950-2016. RIP
What a shocker – I have admired her work immensely – probably one of the most original + breaker of norms + status quo + glass ceiling.

Her architectural signature is recognizable the world around. Someone titled her The Queen of Curves! How apt indeed.
Most definitely sitting in the pinnacle forum of those top of them all architects. She was an all around nice person – not a diva.

Zaha Hadid’s early work played a huge role in my development as a designer. She was one of the best to ever do it. This is one of her paintings from 1982. What a gift.

"Zaha’s drawings were never pure representation or simple formal research, but necessary tools for design production. Early drawings were a means of altering and modifying the plan, leading to the disappearance of difference between 2D and 3D.
In an interview, Hadid describes that she was attempting to appropriate the moving quality of elemental forms in Malevichs’ paintings in order to inject the idea of motion and energy in architecture, and thus free the plan from its static role."

The Montreal Metro (subway) was officially opened back in 1966. It comprises of 68 stations on four lines. Follows diagram of the projected line extensions.

Some of its stations architecture – is an ode to an era gone by.. but still very modern. View how Chris M. Forsyth has captured it. As a Montrealer, I was quite taken by his tribute – seeing everthing – afresh.
