Julien Pacaud — a terrific collage illustrator — has opted for a triangular shape to feature little ‘visus‘ of his work. Giving him a A+ for taking this direction.
Visually allowing for loads of negative space, as you can see in the two featured works below, triangular shapes aren’t restricted to the navigational system, but are integral to his style.
Simple + edgy = unique

Nice pattern base illustrations for Galison/Mudpuppy by Linzie Hunter who is originally from Scotland and now lives in North London. A graduate of Glasgow University, she was a theatre stage manager before studying illustration at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
Her freelance illustration work is created digitally but when away from the computer she enjoys traditional print-making and book-binding.

Akrolab is a French design and web creation studio and they’ve opt for an unusual display of their portfolio – a book like presentation (which includes a contact form – that’s smart). Excellent and very professional work – especially in the fields of advertising and editorial design.
What do you think? Works or not?

I Do (and Don’ts). Wedding etiquette dictates many do’s and don’ts for the happy couple. But no prenuptial protocol is more important than the look of the wedding dress. The Summer/Fall issue of Washingtonian Bride & Groom takes a look at the latest wedding fashions and planning faux pas – a creative project that inspired designers to declare "I do."

Born in Scotland, Nick Dewar grew up in a small fishing town. He has lived in Prague, London, a farm in Cumbria and New York for nearly ten years. He has recently moved to Southern California. He no longer has to bathe in his kitchen.
He is an award-winning illustrator who has managed to keep a very spared and clean look for his work while injecting a good deal of funk to make it editorially appealing and memorable.
_______
Note: Nick passed away 6 months ago. May this post serve as a tribute to him.

Christian Northeast is an ex-grungy (influenced) illustrator who has been perfecting his abilities since a long-long time. In fact, he is succinctly stated and punctuated as having a sharp-edged visual style. Would go even further, that he’s the best crossover between lamely kitschy and over the top pop-artsy.
The sheer depth of his portfolio is ample statement to clients engouement for his quirkiness and vivid imagination.
Wonder if the “untitled document” title header is a personal stunt or oversight?
