Niiiice interface design!

Now trending

Now trending is black and white newspaper like grid, with large logo, titling and visuals and the new T New York Times is definitely following this.

Simply HUGE

Simple. I’m just a HUGE fan! Check what they did on the jetBlue case study as a layout for the page. Now check the size of that suitcase; it’s humongous.. huh.. huge!

Happy Cog’aoke

Gotta luv the Happy Cog’aoke 2 website! Nice
interface, usability and functionalities.

Interface layouts

Harvested some interesting websites that each have a unique approach to their current contexts. The new trend, as you can see is all about ‘black/gray/white’ which are making a return as the favored color for contrast.

Do you think minimalist / empty is the new full?

Working on a new website? Don’t go dark – do something like Toko Design. Show your best work in a one-page with a proeminent contact link.

_______

Large negative expanses (white space), simple top text navigation to projects and huge visuals to show off capabilities as This Studio did.

_______

Got to make your visitors choose between two different sections? Make sure to use as Counter-Print did, explicit text with no ambiguities.

_______

Super confident in your work? Then use merely a slideshow with easy next / previous links. Make sure clicking images takes to a more detailed section of the projects as Build did.

_______

Use large black blocks for navigation and smaller lines to create an elegant minimalist effect to seperate sections as Subtraction did.

_______

An excellent idea to put emphasis on the latest project delivered as Iain Claridge Studio did. Playing off grayscales affords a nice neutral interface.

_______

Lastly, only dare using pop-ups windows if you have no other way to show a large portfolio as did Studio Newwork did.

Thinking *up

Is it just me or there are a lot of newly relaunched websites going for huge visuals and lateral scrolling? MoCo Loco is one example that comes to mind. Well one of my fav bunch of people Duane King and company have redesigned Thinking for a Living that kept its signature soft pink background and nice typographic treatment for sections. Personally I really like it.

What do you think? Like or not? Works or not?

Made by Fudge

Oh! I’m liking this! The website made by Fudge is like a screen capture that includes, guidelines, selected type, the familiar gray square background and portion of the toolbar.. Now that’s taking a metaphor and translating it down to every tiny detail.

Smart concept!
