Past January I had a life-saving surgery – I am now cancer free! Before the melanoma was discovered (on top of my right foot) – I was already suffering (for over 2 years) – from a severe sport (running) injury – which was misdiagnosed (and left untreated).
My condition has steadily detoriated since – and both feet are now sick (one from compensation). I am in waiting for two surgeries (one foot at a time).
My mobility is very restricted – spending 60% of my time on the couch. Standing and sitting is near impossible.
_______
Due to these circumstances – Netdiver Mag will be on hiatus until end of September. I will use this time to create digital art – from the comfort of my shiny new iPad pro tablet.
So you know – I am fighting to keep my mobility – my spirit is high and one day – I will be healed.

MoMA to close galleries dedicated to architecture and design.

THE MUSEUM OF Modern Art in New York City is closing its architecture and design galleries, along with the other “medium specific” galleries including photography and drawing.
Instead of living in a dedicated space, some of the works from all four mediums will be interspersed throughout the museum, as additions to preexisting (and future) installations.

_______
What is sad is that – if design is everywhere as Paola Antonelli states – art is not everywhere.
The very reason there are Art Museums is because Art is not mainstream and same explicitly applies to Design. But it seems latter can be boot out.. huh merged.
If design was everywhere – ugly would have disapeared for good.. No?
MOMA had acquired a reputation for supporting design. It will now return to it’s touristy attraction level.
Emporium new imperium.
_______
The concept detailed.
The visual inspiration came from the rather ugly four-color ink-jet printing, flat photography and amateur typography found across small shops, street vendors and subway ads.

ZAHA HADID 1950-2016. RIP
What a shocker – I have admired her work immensely – probably one of the most original + breaker of norms + status quo + glass ceiling.

portrait: Sebastian Böttcher
_______
Her architectural signature is recognizable the world around. Someone titled her The Queen of Curves! How apt indeed.
Most definitely sitting in the pinnacle forum of those top of them all architects. She was an all around nice person – not a diva.
A work selection in black & white.

_______
Zaha Hadid’s early work played a huge role in my development as a designer. She was one of the best to ever do it. This is one of her paintings from 1982. What a gift.

_______
"Zaha’s drawings were never pure representation or simple formal research, but necessary tools for design production. Early drawings were a means of altering and modifying the plan, leading to the disappearance of difference between 2D and 3D.
In an interview, Hadid describes that she was attempting to appropriate the moving quality of elemental forms in Malevichs’ paintings in order to inject the idea of motion and energy in architecture, and thus free the plan from its static role."

_______
Zaha Hadid is not only the most distinct, successful and influential architect of her generation, she is also among the most intellectual.
Her works are often described as fluid, curvilinear and organic, featuring unique lines and shapes and oblique inspirations.
