Greeting you on top of buildings, outside shops with a fist raised to the sky and in restaurant windows staring unblinkingly, the Japanese mascot is almost unavoidable. Idle Idol: The Japanese Mascot collects these wonderful characters.

Post-FIRE (exhibit) day. If you want to see some snapshots check the album. Showing Fabesko (a totally awesome Parisian artist) who created her version of Captain America holding on to the PILLS artwork. It was a hit at first sight!
It so happens that they are almost exactly in the same color hues. Something huh?

“When buying a new computer most people don’t care about its design. Then we have another group of people. The ones that just can’t live with the thought of being just like the average Joe. They want to be among the select few that stands out in a crowd showing off their designer/manufacturing skills no matter how much money it will take getting there.”

Hofstede Design (located down under) “specialises in identity, publication and environmental graphic design. In a time of ‘brand strategists’ and ‘information architects’, we are doers, not talkers.
Our experience traverses the shift from analogue to digital, from the drawing board to the keyboard, and we appreciate that real originality exists in the hand and the head, and not the hard disk.”
How’s that as mission statement?

Jean Julien Pous is a French young aspiring film director and Switch is an awarded short that is a metaphysical thought on the pressure of time on our society.

I’m nowhere near being a fashionista — since I’m definitely a artsy-geeky type when it comes to fashion (cool tees, jeans and kicks) — but this is blowing me away: A Matter of Taste was imagined, designed and photographed by Fulvio Bonavia.
Everything you will see has been constructed with edible (or natural) elements.

Fortunately you don’t need to come back to index, just use top left arrows to go from one project to the other.

Voyage through spaces. Lee Mawdsley is a photographic virtuose. Be it people, still life, furniture, outdoor, accessories, etc, all pictures are exemplary compositions, some with bedazzling symmetry. Either peeking through an unsuspecting angle or subject, either soaring over or plunding under, you are like him, standing just behind his lens.
Some spend a lifetime amassing a fraction of the quality of his portfolio.

That guy delivers premium good. His work is stellar.

Currently guzzle is a verb intimately linked to gazoline and how cars are guzzling down because the electric car was can years ago. So what if Marca Tatem creates a RSS aggregator and names it that way? My first guess would be that Guzzle.it crunches hundreds of feeds every second. Must say I’m quite impressed with the ease of quickly choosing, organizing and prioritizing the information you want which holds on a single-page. Nice.

Watch the screencast for a quick intro and see how it works.

FREITAG has been manufacturing bags and accessories for women and men since 1993. The materials are used, having seen service on the road. They are well-travelled truck tarpaulins, unravelled seat belts, bicycle inner tubes beyond repair, recycled airbags.
Tough stuff – which makes their products tough, too. They apply the recycled materials in a totally new way, insisting on superlative design and functionality. Every FREITAG product is a one-off.
Now how cool is that?

Adam Rix decided he was going to take full advantage of a full-screen portfolio as well as a full-time freelancer. He came as a designer, and left as a creative head. He’s won over 30 industry awards for his work. Now he’s branching out by himself and looking for assignments. He specialises in design, art direction and branding and has done a pretty good job at it.
The focus of all of his work is ideas. True!

Eyeport is gone! Long live Lee Hasler for endorsing himself as a durable brand. The bulk of his illustrations has impressed me for quite a number of years, he made it to our Best of the Year listing in 2005 and year after year since, he delivers genuine eye candy.

Derek Stenning lives in a world of his own filled with astronauts of surreal, painful and of grandiose attitude and canvas proportions. His drawing and perspective skills are of master class quality and the palette enriched with drama and outwardly light.
As you can see there is this central character Entartete Kunst who appears in most of his projects. The breathing apparel (or what looks like it) is to be likened to a much wanted balloon when you’re a kid?
