Tough situation requires a tough approach and this is what the Step Up Speak Out website is about: empowering teens about gender issues such as violence, sexual harassment and more.. Short to the point useful help is provided.
Sexually explicit clips (viewer discretion is advised) are offending and unfortunately, it takes what it takes to jolt out of the massive culture anesthesia related to entertainment and it’s blueprint effect on youth.
On a technical side, the interface is clearly intended to be simple to navigate with edgy popping content boxes that are helping charting the information easily.

My iPad Magazine Stand by Khoi Vinh
“iPad app version of The New Yorker as a content experience, was an impediment to my normal content consumption habits. I couldn’t email, blog, tweet or quote from the app, to say nothing of linking away to other sources — for magazine apps like these, the world outside is just a rumor to be denied.”
________
“My understanding is that a lot of these apps are being actively encouraged and even partially funded by the folks at Adobe.. In my personal opinion, Adobe is doing a tremendous disservice to the publishing industry by encouraging these ineptly literal translations of print publications into iPad apps.”
________
“They must translate their print editions into a utilitarian complement to their users’ content consumption habits.”
________
“And it’s a no-brainer to me that content consumption is going to be intimately if not inextricably linked with your social graph.”

Who Are The ‘Influencers’ Influencing? by Matthew Newton
The term itself is absurd: Influencer. Any reasonable person would laugh at such a title, perhaps go as far as classify it as a fairly pretentious way to view one’s self. But it turns out more and more “young creatives” have adopted the moniker as a badge of honor, an indicator of how they perceive their role in life.
Check the trailer. So what do you think?
